Brentford slash Ivan Toney asking price amid Manchester United interest

Brentford slash Ivan Toney’s asking price has sparked attention from Manchester United.

Brentford are willing to take substantially less money than previously reported for striker Ivan Toney, who is garnering interest from Manchester United.

The number nine position is an area of the pitch that United is looking to improve ahead of the summer transfer window.

Despite exhibiting hopeful glimpses of the player he can grow into over time, it is plainly evident that youthful Rasmus Hojlund still needs aid shouldering the responsibility of leading the line for United.

The Red Devils also need excellent depth in the attacking department, which is where Toney fits in. The England international has four goals and one assist in 13 Premier League appearances after returning from an eight-month betting suspension for violating Football Association gambling rules.

According to an earlier story by The Peoples Person, the Bees are requesting a cost of £50-60 million for the 28-year-old’s services.

It was speculated that Thomas Frank’s team might seek the £80 million price tag they set for their talisman in January.

However, reputable Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has released a new update, indicating that Toney might cost far less than the first sums mentioned.

According to Plettenberg, a fee of about £30-40 million may secure a move for the Brentford striker.

He also says that other Premier League clubs, like West Ham, Chelsea, and Arsenal, adore the Brentford player and would like to add him to their roster.

It is reported that the Hammers have previously asked about the United striker target.

Brentford’s decision to cut their asking price for Toney may be influenced by the fact that he has fewer than 18 months left on his current deal at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Rather than pay £80 million, United and other suitors would have undoubtedly chosen to wait an additional year and sign Toney as a free agent.

This summer is Brentford’s last chance to secure a decent price for Toney, and a £30-40 million estimate would not deter suitors like United. At that price, he would be an obvious choice for the 20-time English champions.
