Nobody really thought they would win this match, yet even with Newcastle United’s injury woes, there was more than enough quality to put the Toffees to the sword.
But their wastefulness and failure to generate enough clear-cut opportunities allowed Jordan Pickford to excel, receiving plaudits from Shay Given following the game, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to finally score a goal to break his goal drought.
Sean Dyche put up an excellent road performance against a strong team, and he will be happy to have stolen that kind of outcome.

However, the 52-year-old coach will be delighted with his team’s draw against Newcastle United and will look to build on that this weekend.
