West Ham told £60m+ Amadou Onana bid will ‘likely be accepted’

Football Insider has been informed by sources that West Ham will need to shell out more than £60 million to get Everton midfielder Amadou Onana this summer.

Senior writer Pete O’Rourke stated on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that the Merseysiders believe the 22-year-old’s worth has doubled since he moved from Lille in August 2022.

Prior to the summer transfer window, Football Insider reported last month (March 27) that West Ham is once again interested in Onana.

The Belgium international was favoured to sign with West Ham in 2022, but that deal fell through, and he ultimately agreed to join Everton.

Before the summer break, the Irons are looking for a new midfield player because loanee signing Kalvin Phillips is unlikely to stay with the team.

Transfer expert: Onana, a target for West Ham, might cost £60 million this summer.

Onana’s contract at Everton, who are in the midst of a relegation fight as the 2023–24 campaign draws to a close, runs until June 2027.

During an interview with Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, O’Rourke stated: “Everton invested a substantial sum of money—more than £30 million—to acquire him from Lille.

It’s increasingly likely that West Ham and other teams will have to accept an offer of at least £60 million, if not more.

“With the market so skewed and clubs paying over the odds, it’s hard to tell.

However, £60–70 million seems like a reasonable price for someone like Onana, who will only get better.

“He’s not too old yet.”
