Sunderland: Jude Bellingham shares six-word reaction after Cardiff City win

Jude Bellingham heaped praise on Sunderland after their win at Cardiff City, where younger brother Jobe scored.

England midfielder Jude Bellingham heaped praise on Sunderland after their impressive win at Cardiff City on Good Friday.

Sunderland end poor run with Cardiff win

The Black Cats, who had hoped to be in the running for promotion at this time in the season, have undoubtedly had a poor campaign.

Instead, they’re comfortably in the middle of the table, and it doesn’t seem realistic for them to finish in the top six. They also can’t be forced into the relegation zone.

Championship Table (As it stands March 30th)
Team P GD Pts
9 Hull City 38 5 58
10 Middlesbrough 39 1 55
11 Cardiff City 39 -10 53
12 Sunderland 39 5 51
13 Bristol City 39 -2 50
14 Watford 39 2 49
15 Swansea City 39 -10 47
16 Millwall 39 -16 44

After Tony Mowbray was fired in December due to ineffective leadership, Mick Beale led the team for two months before Mike Dodds was appointed as the next temporary manager.

The previous coach didn’t have the desired early impact, as Sunderland lost their seventh straight game before traveling to Cardiff.

Nonetheless, they excelled in Wales, where Adil Aouchiche gave the visitors the lead right away. Then, following a nice play, Jobe Bellingham made it two with a close-range finish.

Sunderland put on an incredible first-half performance, playing with intensity and clever combination play that had them looking nearly at their best.

still didn’t perform as well after the break, but still managed to win the game quite easily and send the fantastic away fans home satisfied.

Jude Bellingham watches on as Sunderland beat Cardiff

Even though he wasn’t in the away end, one man who was watching on was Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham, who was obviously keeping an eye on his brother.

And, it’s fair to say he liked what he saw from Sunderland, as he sent a message on social media to praise the whole team after the win.

Whole team a joy to watch!”

As mentioned, it’s a fair assessment from Bellingham here, as the Wearside outfit were simply too good for Cadiff on the day, and when they do play like that, they are a great watch.

From the perspective of the Sunderland players, even with the family connection, it’s no doubt nice to receive such praise from one of the best in the world.

Jobe Bellingham shows his class

There has been a spotlight on the younger Bellingham brother since his move to the Stadium of Light from Birmingham City, and it has been a mixed campaign for the 18-year-old.

At times, it’s felt like he has been overused, with the club placing too many demands on someone who is so young.

But, the win against Cardiff was a reminder of just how good Bellingham is, and why he is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in the Football League.

He showed his intelligence to find the right positions, which the Bluebirds struggled to stop, and he is technically assured, whilst Bellingham capped it all off with another goal, to take him to seven for the season.

Mick Beale has acknowledged that, given the work Tony Mowbray had done, it was challenging to succeed him at Sunderland.

That’s an incredible return for a player his age, and supporters should be excited since he is still growing both tactically and physically, so there is still a lot more to come.

Easter Monday marks Sunderland’s return to action as they take on Blackburn Rovers.
