Nottingham Forest disclosed that they might have to shell out around £46 million for transfer add-ons.

The club has released its latest financial statements for the year that concluded on June 30, 2023. The Reds also reveal a contingent liability “from player purchases and First Team management changes” in the 44-page document, which is currently worth £45.8 million, up from £3.8 million in the previous annual report.

Because of its Premier League status, Forest’s revenue increased significantly to about £125 million, setting a new record for the club. But the club’s operating deficit grew to £62 million.

Evangelos Marinakis is “committed to the long-term future of the club and its funding,” according to the annual report. It also mentions the club’s violation of Premier League financial regulations, which resulted in a four-point deduction that Forest is contesting.

The statement said, “On January 15, 2024, the Premier League determined that Nottingham Forest had violated the Profit & Sustainability regulations with regard to the financial information provided for the three-year period ending in June 2023.” “The Premier League and the Football Club are collaborating closely to reach a mutually agreeable resolution to the ongoing proposed breaches.”
