David Moyes was a childhood fan of Celtic, his first team, therefore he is well-versed in the meaning of passion in football.
He also said that Newcastle’s supporters are among the best in the nation today and predicted that St. James’ Park will be lively.
Let’s hope Newcastle can add some much-needed three points to the excitement!
Regarding St. James’ Park and today’s match, which is the early KO game at 12:30 p.m., Moyes has stated the following:
“St James’ Park is most likely among the best in the nation.”
“I think they’re probably even more so with what they’re getting, but they’ve always been incredibly passionate because of the success their team has had over the past year or so.”
“As they all are these days, I think the game [on Saturday at St. James’ Park] is really important.”
“I believe we have nine games left, and every one of them will be crucial to us scoring as many points as we can.”
“We are among the few teams chasing in and around the European spots.”
Since we’ve played more games than Newcastle, I can only speak for myself.
Has that affected us? Indeed, it has. It’s probably had some effect on Newcastle as well.
With a game in hand and a superior goal differential, a Newcastle victory today would put us just one point behind West Ham in the league, who are now four points ahead of us.
In the next ten games of the season, we need to win as many as we can; hopefully, this is only the first of many.
