Michail Antonio has made an extremely open and honest claim about his form this season.

Michail Antonio will undoubtedly be remembered as a club legend at West Ham United when he departs. He not only contributed significantly to one of the team’s greatest eras of success ever, but he also played at Upton Park and gave his all for the Hammers every single week.

Sadly, it’s evident that his advanced age and multiple injuries are catching up with him. He has had a terrible season overall, scoring just two goals this year, despite his incredible performance over the last three games.

Antonio, meanwhile, is well aware of his problems and is optimistic that he can continue to support the Irons in their quest to create another memorable season.

He said to The Athletic, “It’s nice to be back out there performing the way I am now. I was not giving my best performances before I was out for quite a while.”

“To be honest, I did really well at the beginning of the season, but I faded out with poor performances. Then, after my accident, I was a little rusty. I’m demonstrating my qualities once more now. I may not be the most attractive football player, but I accept that about myself. I know what I can do and what I bring to the field when I walk onto it. And in the end, every manager starts using me after realizing the benefits I can offer the group.

His honesty and confidence are a refreshing change of pace for a player who frequently says contentious things that enrage fans. It is nearly impossible for defenders to keep up with him when he is performing at his peak. That is necessary for West Ham to end strongly.
