Lucas Paqueta proves West Ham fans so wrong with comments that make Said Benrahma look silly – view

Lucas Paqueta has proven to be a sensational player for West Ham United over the past 20 months or so.

West Ham brought Lucas Paqueta to the London Stadium from Lyon in the summer of 2022 for around £50 million

He is incredibly beloved by the Hammers supporters, and he recently won our hearts even more by refusing to answer a reporter’s question regarding a possible transfer to Manchester City, claiming he was too focused on West Ham and too much respect for the team to discuss other teams.

It’s not common knowledge that David Moyes likes flashy players; instead, he typically leans for workhorses like Jarrod Bowen, Tomas Soucek, and Vladimir Coufal.

Although Moyes hasn’t always made a big deal out of guys like Paqueta and Said Benrahma, it’s intriguing to see how two players with identical skill sets have performed so differently under the Scot.

Earlier this season, the West Ham boss lost all trust in Benrahma, according to Give Me Sport’s Dean Jones.

The former Brentford attacker was backed up by 80% of the Hammers fans in his battle against Moyes, but now Paqueta has proven the majority of us wrong, and has made the Algeria international look very silly indeed as far as I’m concerned…

After a nine-month break, the 26-year-old Hammers star was recently invited back to the Brazil national team.

After displaying some absolutely amazing play for West Ham in the Premier League and Europe this season, he is deserving of his return.

While playing for Brazil, Paqueta gave his manager David Moyes the highest compliment possible, according to WHUFC.com:

Lucas Paqueta proves West Ham fans so wrong

“I have an excellent relationship with David Moyes. It’s a sound partnership. We discussed this. Because of what I did the previous season, he wanted me to join the team. Without a doubt, his assistance was crucial to my success. For me, he was unique, and I valued his support greatly. He expressed his desire for me to be a member of the team and stressed the need of confidence for me.

Paqueta’s statement is rather unexpected considering Moyes’s track record as a strict disciplinarian who finds it difficult to bring out the best in players with flair.

The Algerian striker himself poked fun at the Scot in a recent interview. The Hammers manager faced harsh criticism for how he handled Said Benrahma while the player was at the London Stadium.

Despite the unjust narrative against our gaffer’s man management skills, it is encouraging to know that Moyes is regarded as one of our greatest players.

The fact that Lucas Paqueta spoke so highly of David Moyes, the manager of West Ham, will have helped the Scot too. Fantastic to see Lucas again.

Moyes will undoubtedly support you to the hilt if your attacking flair has some substance and final product. It is evident that Paqueta possesses that, but sadly, Benrahma cannot compare.
