Liverpool sign Murillo, but Elanga returns: Nottingham Forest players reassigned due to FFP

Liverpool set to sign Murillo as Man Utd eye Elanga return: Nott'm Forest sell five to comply with FFP

Nottingham Forest’s FFP breach will force them to sell several of their greatest players this summer. The four-point punishment has pushed them into the drop zone, but whether they are demoted or not, they will need to balance their books.

According to a Football Insider article, Forest may be forced to sell the five players who are most likely to make them money, and we’ve done them a service by reassigning that quintet (market value in brackets) to eager Premier League buyers. Evangelos Marinakis, you are welcome.

Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White, Murillo and Anthony Elanga.

Morgan Gibbs-White (£35 million) – Tottenham
Ange Postecoglou, the Spurs manager, is an admirer of the midfielder’s dashing, forward-thinking, and action-oriented style.

He is sixth in the Premier League for tackles in the final third (10) and ninth in shot creation (106), demonstrating the energy and inventiveness that Ange values.

According to TalkSPORT, Tottenham has a good chance of convincing Forest to sell Gibbs-White due to their relationship with former teammate Brennan Johnson. However, Forest may not be in this situation if Spurs had bid £47.5 million earlier.

Taiwo Awoniyi (£24 million) – West Ham
David Moyes picked Gianluca Scamacca over Awoniyi, something he undoubtedly regrets. Whether Moyes stays or leaves, the Hammers will undoubtedly be looking for a new No.9, and they have firsthand knowledge of the Nigerian’s abilities.

This season, the 26-year-old has scored both at home and away against the Hammers, with his goal at The City Ground demonstrating the power, touch, and calmness in front of goal that Moyes’ team has been lacking.

Awoniyi Zouma

Danilo (£24m) – Aston Villa Arsenal were connected with Danilo before his move to Forest. However, Arsenal’s current buying range may take them to Douglas Luiz, making Danilo a potential replacement for his compatriot at Villa.

Danilo is brilliant but raw, and there isn’t a better location for a player to develop right now than Villa Park under Unai Emery.

Murillo (£21 million) – Liverpool
Everything points to his joining with Chelsea.22 or younger? Check. Brazilian? Check. Potential? Check. Likely to crumble under the weight of a large club? Check. And while Arsenal and Newcastle are also interested, Liverpool appears to be the greatest match.

Richard Hughes, Liverpool’s new sports director, plans to sign one or two center-backs. Jurgen Klopp’s replacement will have just Virgil van Dijk (if he remains) and Ibrahima Konate as senior players, presuming Joel Matip is on his way and Joe Gomez is more commonly utilized as full-back cover.

Forest allegedly wants £50 million or more for Murillo, although that price might fall as pressure to fix their financial difficulties mounts.

Anthony Elanga (£19 million) – Manchester United
Hear us out. Only Rasmus Hojlund (0.60) has more goals and assists per 90 minutes than Elanga (0.50) for Manchester United this season in all competitions. And he did it for a team suffering relegation.

United have given up on Antony for good reason. Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood will likely stay abroad, as bringing them back would be a PR catastrophe for Sir Jim Ratcliffe. A winger is undoubtedly going to be one of their key targets this summer.

And Elanga embodies the INEOS recruitment slogan. He’s young, as homegrown as homegrown can be, having graduated from the United academy, and would represent decent value for money, considering that value is only likely to go one way.

He will not be “the next Mbappe,” but he has the potential to become the player many at United hoped he would be when he initially got into the first squad. Ralf Rangnick admired him, and his unpleasant facts have led to him being regarded as a prophet.
