West Ham done deal as gem finalises new London Stadium contract

West Ham United have confirmed that Josh Briggs has signed his first professional contract in East London.

On Thursday, March 21, the Hammers announced on their official website that Briggs had signed his first professional deal earlier in the month.

In August 2022, David Moyes’s team acquired the 18-year-old from Linfield, a team in the NIFL Premiership.

Briggs, who was raised in North Belfast, has pledged his future to the London Stadium following his graduation from the Irish FA JD Academy.

West Ham and David Moyes should be incredibly excited about Josh Briggs at the London Stadium

It’s possible that some supporters are unaware of Briggs, but that doesn’t matter; they should be excited at this announcement.

Briggs, an Under-19 international for Northern Ireland, had a significant effect in his debut season in England.

The center-back made 18 games in the 2022–2023 season after joining the team, helping the Hammers win the Under-18 Premier League South and the FA Youth Cup.

Briggs had an influence on the championship game as well. On April 25, 2023, West Ham defeated Arsenal’s Under-18 team 5-1, and Briggs scored in the ninetieth minute.

Josh Briggs will be under David Moyes’ careful observation as the manager of West Ham United.

Briggs, a second-year scholar, has already made 14 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League South this season and has scored twice.

The defender will soon be lining up for David Moyes at the London Stadium if he keeps going in this direction.
