‘Ridiculous’ – Alan Shearer shares new Everton relegation verdict

Luton Town will only be able to dodge relegation from the Premier League should both Nottingham Forest and Everton be hit with point deductions, according to Alan Shearer.

Prior to the March international break, the Hatters were three points behind the Toffees after their 1-1 draw with Nuno Espirito Santo’s team on Saturday, March 16. Sean Dyche’s team still has a game coming up.

Because Luton concedes a “ridiculous” amount of goals, Shearer thinks Luton will be counting on Everton and Forest to receive a point deduction for breaking the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.

“We keep saying about Luton and Rob Edwards, they concede a ridiculous amount of goals and that’s evident for everyone to see, but they do score and make it difficult for you at times,” the man stated in a March 18 interview with The Rest Is Football.

Their issue lies at the opposite end; they are well-organized, proficient in placing balls into boxes, and have a method that works for them. Only what transpires with Everton and Nottingham Forest, in my opinion, [can keep them up].

When will Everton be given their second point deduction and could it relegate them?

Although things are tightening at the bottom of the Premier League, Dyche’s team had the best possible outcome this past weekend. Even though they didn’t play, Forest and Luton’s draw greatly aids their chances of surviving.

But, Dyche must act quickly to turn things around for the Toffees, since their recent Premier League performance has been dismal, particularly since the year’s beginning.

With any lucky, Dyche will have some time to reorganise his strategy at Goodison during the international break, allowing Everton to bounce back stronger and clinch a Premier League spot.
