Newcastle United man aims Sunderland dig and delivers verdict on QPR’s goalless draw at Stadium of Light

Isaac Hayden, a midfielder for QPR, reacts to his team’s goalless draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

At the Stadium of Light, QPR midfielder Isaac Hayden felt his team should have won despite Sunderland’s goalless draw.

The Black Cats managed to snap a six-game losing streak by drawing with the Rs, who are still one point above the Championship relegation zone. However, they can credit Anthony Patterson, their goalkeeper, for a couple of crucial saves.

After the match, Hayden, who is on loan from Newcastle, told the QPR club media, “I think there’s a bit of disappointment to be honest.” We certainly deserved to win this one, in my opinion. We just need to take our chances. We had a few golden opportunities in the first half and a few more in the second. Since we didn’t really give them much, we’re a little let down.To be honest, I felt the boys handled it rather well. It’s one of those where, given their current trend, followers, and fan following, if we win early and get the lead, I believe they’ll go. Although it’s sad that we didn’t exactly grasp it, every point is vital at this juncture in the season.

Given his connections to Newcastle, Hayden was asked if there was any added excitement before the match versus Sunderland. He answered, “Not really, to be honest.” Here, I have never played. I never got to play here because, to be honest, they were always a little bit of a league away from Newcastle. It’s a quality arena. In fairness, they did pack it out today, something they don’t usually do. It was a nice game with a wonderful atmosphere, although I’m unhappy we didn’t win by three points.
