AWARD: Trai Hume collects Northern Ireland Player of the Year Award

The 2023 Player of the Year for Northern Ireland title has been given to Trai Hume.

At the Academy of Light, club captain and fellow NI international Corry Evans gave Hume the trophy.

The 21-year-old won the award after a year in which he was awarded eight caps for his nation, according to a public poll.

The full-back will play in friendlies against Romania and Scotland over the course of the next two weeks while on international duty.

“Trai is going to the Premier League if he carries on the path he is going to,” declared interim head coach Mike Dodds. That’s how excellent, in my opinion.

There won’t be many disagreements regarding Trai’s status as one of the top full-backs in the league, if not the best, when it comes to full-backs in this competition.

“To come from Linfield to where he is now, he has been an unbelievable find for the football club and he has a big future in the game.”
