Paul Merson makes ‘Crazy’ Everton relegation prediction live on Sky Sports

Paul Merson has made a “crazy” relegation prediction involving Everton while live on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday by backing Luton to stay up.

After a six-point deduction, the Toffees are currently four points above the relegation zone. They don’t play again until the end of the month, so Luton will have another opportunity to cut the gap when they play Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon (16 March).

However, Merson supported the Hatters to avoid relegation while acknowledging that he is concerned about Sean Dyche’s team following their 11-game losing streak when making an appearance on Sky Sports Soccer on Saturday, March 16, at 12:26.

“Playing someone is all about timing,” he remarked. You recall that not so long ago, Bournemouth was having a great deal of difficulty. Then, with eleven players out, they go to play Newcastle at home. They began their ascent up the ladder with their victory over Newcastle.

“At this point, I believe Luton should leave.” Their fixtures appeal to me. They seem like a different animal at home, and I believe they prevail today. They are absolutely correct in this assessment.

Everton is my concern since they consistently lose football games while remaining under the radar. What’s even more concerning is that occasionally they continue to perform well while losing football games.

That raises even greater concerns. Personally, I believe Luton is still able to escape.

Why Was Everton Deducted 10 Points, and Why Are Its Finances Under Scrutiny? - Bloomberg

Undoubtedly, Everton faces relegation in their final 10 games of the current campaign, which is unfair given their success thus far.

The Toffees are the only club in the top flight to have underperformed their xG more than they have, and it is evident that they should be ahead by six points.

Merson is typically on the same side as Dyche and Everton when it comes to survival, but he has good reason to be concerned, and any supporters who claim otherwise are telling lies.

With just one victory in their previous eleven games, the team has collapsed, and the club’s faith in the players and supporters has been completely destroyed in addition to all of the off-field problems.

However, the team’s bad performance has to end at some point, and the international break may have come at the ideal time. They ought to be alright if they can manage a few victories, but at this stage, nothing is guaranteed.
