Despite receiving attention for his English League One achievements, Bosun Lawal is determined to pursue a career at Celtic.
The Irish U21 international, who advanced at the Bhoys as a center-back, has scored three goals in his previous six Fleetwood Town appearances and is thriving in a new midfield role.
Fleetwood’s manager, Charlie Adam, thinks the player has a bright future in the game and has what it takes to be successful at Celtic Park.
Prior to leaving on loan, Lawal committed to a new deal with Celtic that would keep him there until the summer of 2026.
The 20-year-old is now aiming to rejoin Brendan Rodgers’ team and force his way into first-team plans; Celtic is reportedly happy with his development in the south.

“I was immediately interested in Celtic because they are a big club and came in for me,” Lawal stated [Irish Independent, 16/03 print version]. To establish a name for myself and my family, all I want to do is keep getting better and maybe get into the first team.
“The contract was very beneficial. Although I was training with the first team and performing well at the academy, I thought it was time for me to leave and gain valuable first-team experience.
Celtic is pleased with my advancements. I was sent out on loan by Celtic so that I could play, pick up some experience, and perhaps return to the main team ready to play. Right now, I’m enjoying it and am really grateful that everything is coming together.
“I’ve discovered that I can play a variety of positions with ease. My focus has always been a problem, so I believe it has improved significantly as well.
It has always been evident that Lawal’s loan leave was a developmental step rather than an attempt to remove him from the records or make a permanent relocation possible.
Now that he’s proven he can play in midfield, the young player will have another chance to shine during preseason, and it will be intriguing to see what the management has in store for him.
Lawal wouldn’t be the first young Celtic player to struggle while playing on the bench and then return on loan, full of confidence, to advance.
The Irish talent is physically stunning. There is yet potential for him at the Bhoys if he is now incorporating some quality, concentration, and poise into his play.
