DODDS AFTER LCFC

DODDS POST LCFC

Mike Dodds praised Chris Rigg and Adil Aouchiche in particular for showing good signs in Sunderland’s close loss to Leicester City.

MUCH BETTER IN THE SECOND HALF

We need to reverse this trend as soon as possible, therefore I’m very careful about how I respond to questions because we’ve just suffered five straight losses. However, I believe that the second half, in particular, provides a glimpse of the ideal playing style for each of us. The most annoying part of the first fifteen minutes is, listen, I have to give Leicester credit because I thought they moved the ball so rapidly. They moved it so nicely, but I really enjoyed how we pressed at times. We seemed to take control of the game once everything calmed down, and I thought we played fantastically in the second half.”

DOMINANT
“One of the guys there just mentioned that their XG in the second half was 0.01; I don’t think there would be many games where the opposition gets so nullified, never mind the best team in the league. I don’t want to be the guy throwing stats at people because I know it can be annoying and that they can be manipulated. There are many advantages, and the group is doing well, but we also realize that we need to reverse this trend. It does seem to me that one victory leads to two, three, and four more. Since I assumed leadership, we have dropped three games, and I am fully aware of this. However, we seem to be getting better all the time, so I’ll accept the good things. truly conscious of the need to buck this trend. It does seem to me that one victory leads to two, three, and four more. Although we have dropped three games since I assumed leadership, I think we have improved steadily, therefore I will focus on the positives.
WENT TOE-TO-TOE

“I believe that we outperformed them in our earlier season matchup; I just didn’t envision them scoring or getting out in the second half. Despite the fact that we still have more work to do, I felt we appeared more dangerous. With two scholars on the field who, at their average age of 21.6, should be playing youth team football, it should be highly motivating for everyone to go toe-to-toe with a Premier League contender.”

RIGGY

“Rigg’s performance was excellent in my opinion. Because they made a few unexpected tweaks to the out-of-possession stuff, I felt that he was incredibly selfless in that regard. I thought Riggy handled it rather well. Maybe an hour was what we were going to get out of him, but I knew he would go to the well. I believed it was a great game for him because we needed everyone to give it their all because I knew he would give it to us completely. Considering that he’s a first-team player, He was just so good in the second half of the game, in my opinion, that I decided to keep him on for the entire academic year. People should be excited about Riggy. He has the makings of an incredible performer, so I’m excited to collaborate with him over the next years.”

AOUCHICHE

“Adil impressed me greatly when he first appeared. We have Adil focused well, and I told him that he has to keep continuing in the same route after the game. I was quite pleased with Adil’s performance after he came off the bench.”
