During the January transfer window, Philippe Clement had to correct a lot of Michael Beale’s summer errors, pushing a few Rangers misfits in the direction of the exit.
The Gers have already severed their connections with several of their players who have found it difficult to adjust to the Scottish game, even though players like Cyriel Dessers and Kieran Dowell have shown indications of development and have managed to become consistent members of the squad when healthy.

Before being banished by Clement during the January transfer window, the Dutchman only managed to score twice in 31 appearances across all competitions due to his poor adaptability to the Premiership. But he seems to have settled down in Holland.
The 26-year-old, who played the entire 90 minutes as the home team’s number nine, was unfortunate not to score in Utrecht’s 4-2 victory over FC Volendam on Sunday, February 4. He did, however, pick up an assist.
That means that in four Eredivisie appearances this season, Lammers has managed to pick up two assists and match his entire tally in the opening half of the season in Glasgow.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, the Rangers loanee created two chances for his teammates, with three passes into the final third and even got stuck in defensively, winning 100 per cent of his attempted tackles and entering seven duels.

When analysts in Glasgow and beyond criticized the Dutchman’s performances, it looked in January that the Gers would never be able to sell him permanently since no team would be willing to pay nearly what the Light Blues did in the summer to get him to Scotland.
If Lammers keeps improving while on loan, though, Rangers might be able to get a fair transfer fee in exchange for his services at the end of the year.
Clement’s plan to loan out the Ibrox flop in January could hopefully raise millions of pounds for the Gers.
For the duration of the campaign, Ibrox’s administrators will be hoping that the Dutchman maintains his current level of play.
