Philippe Clement unequivocally shoots down latest Ridvan Yilmaz transfer claims

With absolute clarity, Philippe Clement refutes the most recent claims of Ridvan Yilmaz’s move.

The manager of Rangers, Philippe Clement, has categorically refuted rumors circulating that Ridvan Yilmaz is eager to join Galatasaray.

The Ibrox boss was questioned about the position as Ridvan Yilmaz, a Turkish international left-back, had been heavily linked to a January departure.

As it is, Yilmaz is very much an Ibrox player despite rumors of bids from Galatasaray, interest from Serie A Verona, and several Rangers connections to left-back alternatives.

The Ibrox manager has now refuted claims made by a Turkish writer that Ridvan Yilmaz is pressuring Philippe Clement to allow him to quit Rangers.

Additionally, Osman Senher, a writer for Milliyet, suggested that it might determine the Rangers left-back’s place at Euro 2024.

Philippe Clement on Ridvan Yilmaz’s mentality

Prior to the Scottish Cup matchup with Dumbarton, Philippe Clement expressed his thoughts about Ridvan Yilmaz without holding back.

stating that he wouldn’t be anywhere close to the team if the 22-year-old hadn’t demonstrated the necessary dedication in a recent in-person encounter.

This comes after Ridvan began the opening games of the mid-season friendlies, in which Rangers drew with FC Copenhagen at Ibrox and Rangers lost to Hertha Berlin in Spain.

“There’s not been talks around that (Ridvan leaving),” said Clement. “We had our individual talk like with all the players in training camp.

“With Ridvan it was clearly a good talk because afterwards he played. So we will see.

“I know January transfer market, it’s always special, and you need to be prepared for everything and that’s what we’re going to do.”

Asked about if Ridvan has the right attitude, Clement said: “Yeah, clearly. OK you don’t know me that long maybe but if he was not committed he would never have played against Hertha or against Copenhagen, clearly. So no he’s committed to the club and what he has to do here, everything, training. Otherwise they will never come on the pitch.”

The Rangers’ transfer window is still open.

According to Philippe Clement’s remarks, there is no animosity toward Ridvan Yilmaz and the Turkish international is dedicated to the Rangers organization.

This comes after the defender expressed his affection for the Rangers in a social media post that surfaced amid rumors about his future.

The Turkish international has – 18 months into his Rangers career – begun to come onto a game and now fans are unsure if letting the player leave is wise under the circumstances.

There will be a lot of movement in this position in the coming weeks and months as fellow left-back Borna Barisic heals from an injury and enters a contract that expires in the summer.

However, as far as the Rangers are concerned, there won’t be any problems if Ridvan Yilmaz stays in the squad through January unless someone speaks out in favor of him.

The conversation serves as a metaphor for the Rangers’ mainly uneven transfer window thus far, which has seen only Fabio Silva (Wolves) join the team and Sam Lammers (Utrecht) depart.

Verona’s apparent shift of focus might potentially sever ties with Ridvan Yilmaz.
