Fresh update:Everton transfer news as FC Nürnberg striker Can Uzun wanted at Goodison Park as £8m+ update emerges –

Everton are interested in sign FC Nürnberg striker Can Uzun but face tough competition to sign him with several clubs around Europe also in the hunt, according to Florian Plettenberg.

Uzun

The “incredible” 18-year-old striker is attracting interest from the Toffees, Newcastle, Brighton, Fulham, Sevilla, and Villarreal, according to the Sky Sports Germany journalist who posted on his personal Twitter account on January 20. Plettenberg stated in a tweet from October that the Toffees had inquired about the forward, who is of German descent. However, he has already had formal discussions with Dortmund, and his summer transfer fee is expected to exceed €10 million (£8.6 million).

Plettenberg posted on Saturday (20 January): “Can Uzun, two more goals for Nürnberg today! 18 y/o striker, incredible talent, key player! Price tag in summer: More than €10m.“Concrete talks with Dortmund took place. Bayern have inquired about him. He’s a target for Frankfurt. “Newcastle have scouted him. He’s also on the list of Fulham, Brighton, Everton, Sevilla, Villarreal.”

Tough battle

Given their current challenging financial circumstances, it is evident that the Toffees need to invest in the development of youthful talent as a cost-effective means of ensuring their long-term financial viability. The club has been spending absurd sums of money on average players in recent years, but this hasn’t resulted in success on the field, and they are now suffering from their two FFP penalties.Although Uzun seems to be a high talent that the Toffees should pursue, they will have a difficult time competing with the quantity and caliber of clubs who are interested in the young player.Since Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have already made first offers, the Toffees will have a difficult time acquiring Uzun, who is having an incredible breakout season.

Everton’s previous enquiry in the winger certainly points to them having strong interest in the forward and that could also mean that they are not out of the race but given their financial issues, right now, it’s a tall order to even cough up £8m right now.
