Texas’s Frisco There are more and more talented teams entering the football world, and the Dallas

Cowboys need to accomplish Their Goal before it’s too late. However, their thrilling finish to the 2023

regular season ended in tragedy in the opening round of the playoffs, raising doubts about Mike

McCarthy’s future as the team’s head coach.

McCarthy will indeed, at least for the 2024 season, a decision that was formally announced by owner and

general manager Jerry Jones on Wednesday evening; and one that means several things for the

organization.

There was/is no shortage of wreckage to be sorted through following the meltdown that occurred against

the Green Bay Packers at AT&T Stadium on Super Wild Card Weekend, a 48-32 loss that was far worse

than the final score implies.

The reality is Jones was forced to weigh the future against the past this week.

Not only has McCarthy won a Super Bowl, but he has also guided the Cowboys to 36 victories over the

last three seasons, two division titles, and the highest regular season winning percentage of any head

coach in Cowboys history. Jones made sure to bring up this point in his official statement, indicating

that it was very important to him.

The main issue, in my opinion, is that we’re disappointed. My entire squad is struggling in the locker

room. I haven’t given this game’s conclusion any thought.” -Mike McCarthy

The fact that McCarthy returned to calling offensive plays, giving the Cowboys the best offense in the

league, MVP candidate Dak Prescott, and a record season for two-time First-Team All-Pro wide out

CeeDee Lamb, all helped tilt the odds in his favor.

Now, about the future stuff.

It’s impossible to overstate how awful the Cowboys’ performance was in this year’s biggest game,

especially considering that they had won the No. 2 seed and home field advantage due to their 16-game

winning streak.
