Although Dallas faltered once more, Green Bay and its quarterback should be commended for their

superb butt kicking.

The NFL’s Wild-Card Weekend is over, and although it wasn’t as thrilling as anticipated, it did produce

some unexpected moments. One of the largest was in Dallas, where the Cowboys were flung around like

rag dolls by the Packers, who came through like a cyclone. While everyone’s attention has been on the

Cowboys’ utter humiliation, we should also be giving the Packers their flowers today.

This game seems like Jordan Love’s coming-out party right now. From the very first play, Green Bay’s

offense and head coach Matt LaFleur thoroughly confused and bewildered Dallas‘ “vaunted” defense.

The Cowboys’ justification was abandoning the game altogether. It was like an avalanche, happening so quickly. The Packers led 7-0 at one point, and then 14-0 not too long after.

At this time, any doubts about Love should be banished from the minds of Wisconsin residents. Dallas

never once gave him the impression that he was rattled or uncomfortable in the pocket. He dismantled

the Cowboys defense early on, then moved aside to let Aaron Jones rip through Dan Quinn’s front seven

like a Thanksgiving turkey.

During this massacre, I was sitting at the bar and realized that my friend Dallas was in trouble when the

Packers came out on their opening drive and easily marched down the field. When Green Bay extended

their lead to 14-0 on Jones’ second rushing touchdown in the second quarter after a Dak Prescott

interception, I turned slowly to my right and said, “This game might be over.”

After trailing 27-0 at the end of the first half, Dallas was able to tie the score at halftime with a

touchdown. It’s not the most stunning thing in history that the Cowboys lost in the wild-card round.

Hell, that was only a few years ago when they played the San Francisco 49ers at home.
