Injuries: Jason Kidd addresses Mavericks‘ 2023-24 campaign.

The Dallas Mavericks had a 23-17 record going into their game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.

Considering all of the injury difficulties Dallas has faced this season, the squad has had a great 2023–24 campaign. Among the Mavs players ruled out of Monday’s game was Luka Doncic.

In light of the unpredictability surrounding injuries, head coach Jason Kidd talked about Dallas’ performance thus far this season.

In his words:

“I think with all the injuries it’s unclear… It’s not fair to judge this group yet with all the injuries.”

“I think we’re setting a franchise record here this afternoon with a different starting lineup.

But we can’t complain, every team is going to go through it.

But I think the character of this group, you can judge. We’ve always bounced back after a tough game.”

Dante Exum and Derrick Jones Jr. were both ruled out of the game on Monday. The good news is that Dereck Lively II, who was absent from Saturday’s game, was available before tip-off.

For the entire season, Lively has been a crucial member of Dallas’ team.

Still, Monday will be without Doncic, Jones, and Exum. Later, Kidd made remarks about the Mavericks’ capacity to prevail even when they were without important players.

“When you consider the availability of Kai, Luka, and Lively, you consider their availability…Many of our men have been absent for more than simply one or two games.

The ship has being kept afloat by us. Give the guys in the locker room credit once more. Next, gradually regain health and move forward.

Derrick Jones Jr. and Dante Exum were both declared ineligible for Monday’s match.

Dereck Lively II, who missed Saturday’s game, was available prior to tip-off, which is fantastic news. Lively has been an essential part of Dallas’ team the entire season.

Doncic, Jones, and Exum won’t be there on Monday nevertheless. Kidd later talked about the Mavericks’ ability to win even without key players.

“You take Lively, Kai, and Luka’s availability into consideration while evaluating their availability…Many of our men have missed more than a couple of games due to absences.

The ship has being kept afloat by us. Give the boys in the locker room credit once more. After that, progressively recover your health and proceed.

Kyrie Irving will play in his 25th game of the year on Monday, and Luka Doncic has participated in 34 games.

Dallas has a ton of potential, but the most important thing is to stay healthy.

Having said that, Kidd said that Dallas has done a remarkable job of keeping the “ship afloat.”

The Mavericks will play the Lakers in Los Angeles on Monday after their game against the Pelicans.
