Tottenham handed significant boost ahead of their FA Cup clash against Manchester City

A major boost was given by Tottenham before of their FA Cup match against Manchester City.

Before they play Manchester City in the FA Cup, Tottenham has had a big boost.

Spurs may be in the lead this time around despite their struggles with injuries this season.

Erling Haaland, the star of Manchester City, hasn’t played since December and isn’t expected to be back until early February.

The Norwegian forward has missed 11 games so far while recovering from a foot injury.

An update was given by Pep Guardiola, who stated that Haaland hasn’t trained this week and won’t be available for the remainder of January.

According to Guardiola (via The Athletic):

“Hopefully he’ll be ready by the end of this month.” At first, it was a little bit more than we had anticipated.

It’s a bone; it requires patience. You can take whatever action you choose after an injury, but it will take time.

With just 22 appearances this season across all competitions, this goalscoring machine has an incredible record of 19 goals and 5 assists, thus City has felt the loss of him.

Ange Postecoglou and his Spurs team may see an opening with Haaland sidelined for the FA Cup fourth-round match later this month.

Spurs’ lack of Haaland may be a big advantage, but defeating Manchester City would guarantee them a place in the next round as well.
