Panthers have requested to interview Saints Assistant GM Khai Harley

Panthers have requested to interview Saints Assistant GM Khai Harley.

According to a source and Ian Rapoport on Twitter, the Carolina Panthers have asked to speak with assistant general manager and vice president of football administration Khai Harley of the New Orleans Saints. Carolina has been touring the league, asking a few other team general managers for interviews in addition to Harley.

Harley is renowned for his adept handling of caps. Being a trailblazer in contract restructurings, he has made the most of the Saints’ increasing salary

cap assets. The Saints must grant the Panthers’ request for an interview before they can talk to Harley about the position. Hopefully the Saints can

find a reason to hold onto Harley. Harley deserves a chance as general manager, which is logical, but losing him would be devastating to the Saints franchise.

Would Harley want to work for David Tepper, the controversial owner of the Panthers? It will be interesting to see how this situation turns out.
