Premier League predictions: Villa go top of table, Liverpool and Arsenal draw

After their convincing win over Brighton last weekend, Arsenal has reclaimed the top spot in the Premier League, ending Liverpool’s short reign as the group leader.

At the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners defeated the Seagulls 2-0 thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz in the second half.

Jurgen Klopp’s team was only able to draw 0-0 with Manchester United on Merseyside, which meant they were now one point

behind the North London team. And the new set of top-flight games features a match between the top two at the ideal time.

The hectic festive schedule continues on Thursday when Crystal Palace take on Brighton at Selhurst Park before Aston Villa

play host to Sheffield United 24 hours later.

A full Saturday schedule begins with West Ham United’s home match against Manchester United. Four other matches start

at 7 p.m. (UAE) on Saturday: Fulham plays Burnley, Luton Town takes on Newcastle United at Kenilworth

Road, Nottingham Forest takes on Bournemouth at the City Ground, and Tottenham Hotspur plays Everton in North London.

Liverpool and Arsenal, two of the top two teams, will play each other at Anfield in the late game.

Lastly, Wolves and Chelsea play a Christmas Eve match at Molineux on Sunday.
