Aston Villa told ‘the only way’ Unai Emery Could Replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd

Recent developments regarding Aston Villa while discussion rages around whether Unai Emery could be the man to succeed Erik ten Hag at Manchester United

If Manchester United offers Unai Emery a long-term project, he might “potentially” be persuaded to join.

That’s the opinion of former Premier League winger Aaron Lennon, who was questioned about whether the Villa boss would succeed Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford on national radio.

The 36-year-old stated that there was “no chance” Emery would sign with United before acknowledging it might happen if the Villa manager had specific assurances from the Red Devils’ leadership.

“No chance. I don’t believe so. He has got a squad that is absolutely flying,” Lennon told talkSPORT when asked about Emery going to United.

“Obviously, Man United are one of the biggest clubs in the world, but unless they go there saying he has got a three, four-year project to get it right, I think that’s the only way.”

Lennon said, “Potentially,” when asked if Emery would leave Villa if United made similar assurances. Not at this time. Not now, perhaps towards the conclusion of the season.”

Because of the work he is doing at Villa, Emery has gained national recognition. His team’s current Premier League ranking is third, but if they defeat Brentford today (Sunday), they might move up to the top if other results go their way.
