Rangers youngster Adam Devine wanted by MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps

The Daily Record reports that the Vancouver Whitecaps of Major League Soccer are interested in young Rangers player Adam Devine.

The Scottish newspaper said on Sunday, December 17, that the Whitecaps are huge admirers of Devine and are looking for a right-back.

Academy Award winner Devine extended his engagement with Ibrox until 2025 by signing a new agreement there last year.

He has only appeared in one game this season, which was in the Viaplay Cup victory over Morton in the first round, therefore he might be drawn to a move away.

Loan Exit Makes Sense

Devine’s big problem is that the man he needs to oust is captain James Tavernier, who quite simply starts when available.

The 20-year-old is capable of playing on the opposite flank, where he featured fairly regularly under Michael Beale at one point, but that has not been the case this term.

Rather, Devine is relegated to a supporting position at best, even during the recent Europa League match between the Gers and Sparta Prague when the team had a sort of left-back crisis.

Although Devine merely wants to play matches, patience should be shown because he is still very young.

The possibility exists that a loan exit will be approved in January because the Gers will not want to lose Devine indefinitely.

In the end, Tavernier will not be at Ibrox indefinitely, therefore the Gers must look ahead. It might be prudent to maintain Devine on file in light of that.
