Sources: Aston Villa owners to fund Big January Signing Blitz

Football Insider has been informed by insiders that Aston Villa’s opulent owners, Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris, are prepared to support manager Unai Emery by adding further players during the January transfer window.

With money likely to be forthcoming, the Midlands giants have a wonderful opportunity to build on their strong start to the 2023–24 campaign.

Villa has been playing really well this season, winning their past two league games against Man City and Arsenal, but they could suffer serious injuries to its attacking players.

Tuesday, December 12th, Football Insider reported that Emery’s team is eager to recruit two offensive players during the upcoming January transfer window.

Oscar Gloukh, a midfielder for RB Salzburg who was just added to Villa Park’s radar, is one possible target.

On Wednesday, December 13, Football Insider was informed by sources that Gloukh might join Villa in January at a projected cost of between £40 and £50 million.

As one of the most promising players in Europe, he has already made 41 appearances for Salzburg, with eight goals and seven assists, including two in the Champions League.

Villa are also keen to add an out-and-out striker in the new year despite the good form of Ollie Watkins.

The England international is the only senior forward option available to the team; Jhon Duran hasn’t shown much since signing in January, despite having scored 13 goals in 23 games this season.

During the summer transfer window, Moussa Diaby and Pau Torres were acquired by Emery’s team at a high cost; both players have proven to be essential additions for the Midlands powerhouses.

On Sunday, December 17, Villa will play Brentford in their next league match.
