Aston Villa to intensify pursuit of €60-rated Arsenal, Liverpool target after Emery’s request

A 22-year-old midfielder and Aston Villa manager Unai Emery have a close friendship from their time together at Villarreal, according to a report from Funchales, and Emery has asked the Aston Villa administration to sign the player.

The West Midlands team is prepared to step up their attempts to sign the athlete at this point.

The prospective midfield player is being watched by Aston Villa, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City; it is unclear where he will ultimately finish up.

Martin Odegaard has been Arsenal’s main man in the final third, providing them with both creativity and control.

There is no doubt that they would benefit from having additional options.

The 22-year-old will provide the team greater depth and calibre. It’s unclear if Liverpool, who added several midfielders to their roster over the summer, is prepared to pursue their interest in Baena and make an offer to sign him.

Until the summer of 2028, Villarreal is the terms of his contract, and any team interested in signing him will have to pay his release clause. The midfield player’s contract contains a €60 million release clause.

It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa are prepared to pay that kind of money for him in January.

This season, the West Midlands team has excelled in the Premier League, currently sitting third in the standings.

They need to make some good additions in January in order to maintain their present winning ways and have a great finish to the season. They intend to push for qualification to the UEFA Champions League.

With his departure, the 22-year-old Spanish midfielder will bring inventiveness and vision to the final third.

He’s probably going to contribute goals as well. With coaching and experience, Baena should get better and eventually become an important member of Aston Villa’s team.
