Absolute Shambles’ – Broadcaster reacts to controversial incident in Aston Villa v Bournemouth Villa News

Ty Bracey called the decision not to send Antoine Semenyo off for Bournemouth against Aston Villa a “shambles.”

In the 2-2 tie on Sunday, December 3, the 23-year-old winger tugged the shirt of Villa winger Leon Bailey.

Although a foul was called, referee Thomas Brammall chose not to show him a second yellow card.

Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher remarked on Sky Sports’ Ref Watch that the

Cherries winger was the “luckiest man in Bournemouth not to be sent off” after the incident, but it was the wrong call.

Bracey called for greater uniformity across the board, saying that the officiating “hasn’t been great” in the top division this season.

Bracey remarked exclusively to Villa News, “It’s a shambles.” Again, you can lose games because of those kinds

of things, so naturally, I’m not too happy about it.

However, things have a “roundabout” swing; there will be moments when things work out well for us and moments when they don’t.

To be honest, a little bit disappointed.

“The quality of officiating hasn’t been very high.” It’s clear that you experienced that Haaland episode, which was a complete mess.

“Don’t get me wrong, I have some sympathy for the referees, but they must have the necessary training to carry out their duties effectively.

“If they can’t do their job properly, they need to be removed. It’s the same in any job. We all have a job to do

and it’s just stupidity really. There just needs to be some consistency across the board, that would be nice.”
