Not Bukayo Saka, but an Arsenal player tops the list of overworked England players.

Even though November is still early, these ten English players have already played a ton of minutes this season; Bukayo Saka’s low usage is surprising.

Goalkeepers cannot fatigue, hence they have not been included; nevertheless, outfield players with their minutes for club and nation have been included.

Even though November is still early,

10) Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham: 1451 minutes

Real Madrid, please don’t break him.

In reality, Real has taken good care of him, resting him for the team’s cruising against Las Palmas and Braga, maybe because they are concerned about the strain on such a youthful physique.

Hopefully, it will work to England’s advantage, as they already appear to be lacking in him. With the dreams of a nation on his shoulders, it seems fitting that he missed the November internationals due to a shoulder ailment.

9) Jarrod Bowen: 1472 minutes – West Ham’s

David Moyes won’t get a minute’s rest at West Ham since he has realized he is a superior striker than Michail Antonio. He has participated in all 1080 minutes of Premier League play, started two of the four Europa League games, and even faced Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

Although he has a lot on his plate, he would have preferred more time with England.

He has currently only played 90 minutes against Australia this season and is much below Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, and potentially even Cole Palmer in the right-wing rankings.

8) Arsenal’s Ben White: 1487 minutes

And that’s while working with Gareth Southgate as a persona non grata.

White has started 11 of the 12 Premier League games, all four Champions League matchups, and even two Carabao Cup matches this season, despite Arsenal having more depth. Mikel deserves a vacation; it’s understandable that he eventually sustained an injury and was unable to play in the victory over Burnley.

7) Marcus Rashford: (Manchester United) 1533 minutes

Despite his stellar play, Manchester United has started him in every Premier League and Champions League match for which he has been eligible.

He did earn a break, though, when he was sent off against Copenhagen.

He has participated in all six of England’s 23/24 matches, starting three of them. He performed admirably against Italy but horribly against Malta and North Macedonia.

Nevertheless, there is no indication that he will soon lose his position to a lesser team or a marginally superior nation.

6) The Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka: 1565 minutes

Since he has a reputation for being overused, we thought he would rank closer to the top of this list.

However, he hobbled out of the Lens match, missed the Manchester City victory due to a thigh injury, and then did not participate in the October internationals.

The dilemma for both club and country is the same: he is too valuable to be left out of any game, but he is also too good to risk in every one.

At least, the player above or below him on this list is a more than capable backup at the international level.

5) 1605 mins for Phil Foden of the Manchester City

Though it’s shocking to see him so high on the list, only Ederson, Kyle Walker, and Erling Haaland have played more minutes for City this year than the injured Kevin de Bruyne, as well as the deceased Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan.

In addition, Foden has contributed quietly to all six of England’s games this season, starting four of them. This is surprising considering few would select Foden for their starting lineup if Euro 2024 began tomorrow.

4) Kieran Trippier – 1712 minutes for Newcastle United

Even though Eddie Howe occasionally gives him 20 minutes off when Newcastle has already secured a comfortable victory, he has started every Premier League and Champions League match. At Newcastle, Tino Livramento may be his long-term replacement, but Trippier is not improving quickly.

Three things might be inferred from the fact that he has started more games for England in 23/24 at left back than right back: a) Kyle Walker is an extremely talented player; b) England’s left backs are composed of balsa wood; and c) Gareth Southgate adores Kieran Trippier.

3) 1734 mins for Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane

There is absolutely no chance that Bayern Munich will give him a break since he has scored 21 goals in 15 starts. And most definitely not while he and Erling Haaland are engaged in a historical struggle.

The only small issue facing England is that there aren’t any other players in the same league as Kane. To kneel in his shadow is all that separates Callum Wilson, Ivan Toney, and Ollie Watkins from victory.

Please, man, remember not to put yourself in danger of harm when you quietly score 50 goals in the Bundesliga this year.

2) 1815 minutes; Kyle Walker (Manchester City)

It seems absurd to think that only a few months prior, a distraught Walker was about to leave City when Pep Guardiola decided he required four center backs and no full backs, and he was left off of the starting lineup for the Champions League final.

He was convinced to stay instead of joining Bayern Munich, and he has participated in every Premier League game thus far.

Furthermore, as we stated in the most recent England ladder, “Walker still wins when it comes to tournament pushdowns, despite the five years of Liverpool and Chelsea-led “Trent or James?” debates.” He has been granted leave to miss only England’s 2023–2024 friendly match against Australia.

1) 1874 mins for Declan Rice (Arsenal)

Rice became Arsenal’s most valuable player just a few months after joining the team, since he has started every Premier League and Champions League match this year.

Arsenal won’t try that too soon after losing 3-1 to West Ham in the Carabao Cup, where he was given a break.

He is ranked third for England among the players we absolutely, positively, positively cannot afford to lose out on for Euro 2024.

We are a single pulled hamstring away from Jordan Henderson and Kalvin Phillips’ central midfield pivot. We cannot be buddies if that does not give you the chills.
