TOTTENHAM ARE INTERESTED IN THE TRANSFER DECISION ON CHELSEA PLAYER MAURICIO POCHETTINO WANTS TO SELL.

Breaking news: Now, it seems that Tottenham Hotspur is abandoning plans to acquire Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah in January.

Totteham interested in ChalobahTrevoh Chalobah of Chelsea is attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur, but Ange Postecoglou wants a new center defender.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Tottenham is reportedly pulling out of the competition for Chalobah.

On deadline day, Tottenham reportedly made contact with Chelsea regarding a loan agreement for Chalobah, 24, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Although it seems like Spurs’ interest in signing Chalobah in January is waning, the team was reportedly still eager to work out a deal.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham is now pulling out of the competition to acquire Chalobah.

It’s suggested that Tottenham have concerns about Chalobah’s injury situation ahead of the January transfer window.

Chalobah is out until January with a hamstring problem and will have spent six months out by the time he returns.

That is seemingly putting teams off; reports from Germany indicate that Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund feel similarly about Chalobah

Tottenham are now believed to be looking elsewhere for a new defender, completely shelving their interest in Chalobah.

That will be a blow for Chalobah but also for Chelsea, with Mauricio Pochettino allegedly making plans to sell him in January.

Who could Tottenham target instead?

We think Tottenham will focus on a left-footed defender rather than somebody like the right-footed Chalobah.

Micky van de Ven has been outstanding this season but needs cover and competition in the left-sided centre back spot.

Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly seems to be the ideal target for us; English, left-footed, Premier League experience, still some untapped potential and coming towards the end of his contract.

This decision makes a ton of sense when you consider that he already knows Tottenham coach Matt Wells from their time together at Bournemouth.

On Tuesday, defender Koki Machida of Union Saint-Gilloise was said to be scouted by Tottenham, adding another name to the mix.

Another quick left-footer, the 26-year-old Postecoglou’s familiarity with Japanese players may make him a January target instead of Chalobah.
