Celtic eyeing summer move for Motherwell star crowned the best in the league
The PFA Scotland Premiership Team of the Year for this season is dominated by players from outside of the traditional big two.

In a selection based on votes by Scottish footballers through the trade union, there are five representatives from fourth-placed Well and four from table-topping Hearts.
The only two players included from outside those clubs are Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez and Celtic midfielder Benjamin Nygren.
Motherwell goalkeeper Calum Ward, defender Paul McGinn, midfielders Elliot Watt and Elijah Just plus forward Tawanda Maswanhise, the league’s top scorer, have all made the select XI.
They are joined by Hearts defenders Craig Halkett and Harry Milne as well as strike pair Lawrence Shankland and Claudio Braga.

Motherwell anticipate interest in several of their players this summer, including their manager Jens Berthel Askou, who is one of Celtic’s manager targets, as is frequently the harsh reality of being one of Scotland’s non-Old Firm teams.
In fact, the Hoops will compete for Premiership keeper of the year against Wycombe and Polish team Jagiellonia Bialystok, according to Christopher Reidy of Sky Sports.
The 25 year-old has played all 33 top flight games for the Steelmen so far this season, and is under contract until 2027, with a club option for a further year.
As things stand however, that means there are just over 12 months remaining on his deal, offering Celtic the chance to poach a top talent from a side currently just below them in the table.
The Bhoys are in desperate need of a new goalkeeper this summer after the poor form and injury to Kasper Schmeichel.
