Steven Bergwijn Reactions when Asked  About West Ham January Transfer Move

When questioned about recent rumors of a January transfer to West Ham United, West Ham target Steven Bergwijn—formerly of Tottenham—replied.

In the January transfer window, West Ham has been connected to a deal to sign Steven Bergwijn, an attacker who was previously at Tottenham (De Telegraaaf).

This winter, Hammers manager David Moyes will undoubtedly need to add to his offensive options, and Bergwijn’s versatility would be a huge asset.

We will have very little attacking for the first four or five weeks of the new year since Said Benrahma, Maxwel Cornet, and Mohammed Kudus might be leaving for the AFCON at the beginning of January.

In my opinion, Bergwijn, a former Spurs player, would be a fantastic acquisition. However, how does he feel about perhaps relocating to the London Stadium?

The Dutchman has been speaking to reporters about his future with Ajax.

And he responded when asked specifically about a potential winter move to West Ham, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano:

You should ask my agent. Leaving Ajax in January? In football you can never rule out anything.”

Tottenham signed him from PSV Eindhoven in January 2020 for around £30 million including add-ons (ESPN). He then moved to Ajax for £26 million two-and-a-half years later (Sky Sports), after failing to succeed with Spurs.

The 26-year-old bagged just eight goals and 10 assists in 83 games for Tottenham, and he’s faired far better with Ajax, with 22 goals and eight assists to his name in just 60 outings (Transfermarkt).

The 32-capped Holland international can play anywhere along the front-line, and would offer us with a real variety to our attacking play.

He has pace to burn as is a really direct runner. If West Ham manage to sign Steven Bergwijn in January I would be more than happy.
