£34m goal machine told to choose Aston Villa over Manchester United

Jonathan David has recently been linked to both Manchester United and Aston Villa. The Red Devils and the Villans are reportedly “very interested” in signing the Lille star this month, according to Football Transfers.

According to the report, David has communicated to Lille his desire to make a significant move, possibly during the January transfer window. According to the estimate, January might cost up to £34 million.

ESPN pundit Herculez Gomez has given his verdict on the speculation between the 23-year-old, Man United and Villa. He has made his feelings very clear, urging David to “stay away” from “the toxicity that is Manchester United” and opt for Unai Emery’s Villa instead.

Gomez said on ESPN: “Let me just say that it doesn’t surprise me Jonathan David is being linked to these two teams. “What team is better for him? Jonathan David, stay away from Manchester United!

“As of right now, stay away from the toxicity that is Manchester United, Erik ten Hag, and the Glazers. Move as far away from the situation as you can.Aston Villa, now, wow! I was curious about you, but now you have my whole focus.

“He can be a great player and a major player in the Premier League with Unai Emery. If it were to happen, I would adore Jonathan David for this move.

Aston Villa a more stable club than Manchester United at present

Man United could really do with bolstering their attacking ranks in the January transfer window in wake of a dismal first half of the season. The Red Devils are eighth in the Premier League table, out of Europe and out of the Carabao Cup. The FA Cup is their last realistic chance of silverware this term.

In the meantime, Villa is dominating the Premier League, they are in the FA Cup fourth round, and they are in the Europa Conference League semifinals.

It makes sense that Gomez is advising David to select Villa over Man United, as the latter is a fantastic team to be a part of. The Canada international is a prolific striker, having scored 26 goals from 45 caps for his nation in addition to 68 goals and 15 assists in 160 games for Lille.

Hopefully, 2024 will be the year he makes the significant career change he deserves. Will Villa reap the benefits, or will he sign with another team?
