Since Yuri Alberto’s agent, André Cury, is eager to get him out of Brazil, Southampton may get a second chance to recruit the striker in January.
Jorge Nicola, a journalist for UOL, claims that the agent is aware of his client’s growing reputation as he excels for Corinthians.
Alberto’s supporters are aware that he is his team’s leading scorer in 2024 and has scored 23 goals this season.
Clubs outside of Brazil may want him during the January transfer window as he has been drawing interest for a while. In the summer, Southampton made an attempt to sign him but was unsuccessful.
Now that Cury is keen to get a move for his client, Nicola has hinted that they might be granted another chance.
According to a UOL broadcast on Os Donos da Bola, “Yuri Alberto’s agent, André Cury, is the one who is rubbing his hands together with his success.”
In order to try to negotiate Yuri with an Englishman, he is banking on his having a strong season finale.
“André Cury is desperate to get Yuri Alberto out of Corinthians, but it’s not a natural move, especially since Corinthians will demand a truckload of money since they only have 50% (of the player).”
UOL goes a step further and says that ever since Alberto joined Corinthians, European clubs have been interested in him.
Wolves made a loan offer earlier this year, and Southampton made a purchase offer in the summer, but it was also turned down.
However, Cury is adamant on finding a move, which might make room for the Saints or other teams during the January transfer window.
