BBC NEWS. ‘At some point’… Sam Parkin shares score prediction for QPR vs Sunderland.
Sunderland head to QPR in the Championship this weekend, hoping to retain their five-point advantage at the top of the table.
After 12 games, Sunderland leads the Championship standings by five points and appears to be on track for Premier League football.
Under Regis Le Bris, Sunderland defeated Oxford United 2-0 at the Stadium of Light, demonstrating their dominance.
The Black Cats have won their previous three Championship games, whilst QPR have not won any of their last eight league games and are now in 23rd position.
In reality, the R’s have won only one championship game this season. However, they have drawn their previous two games, including a 0-0 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor.
In the summer, Sunderland were connected with QPR manager Marti Cifuentes, but he chose to stay in West London due to difficult circumstances.
Sam Parkin’s QPR vs Sunderland Score Prediction
On the Championship Check-In podcast, Sky Sports announcer Sam Parkin predicted the score between QPR and Sunderland.
To the amazement of co-host Benjamin Bloom, Parkin predicted Sunderland would lose to QPR.
Parkin stated, “It’s incredibly difficult since everything leads to a Sunderland victory, but it has to end [at some point].
“Are they noticeably superior than everyone else? I know they have a little cushion right now, and I’m not downplaying how great their start to the season has been, and when I’ve seen them, they’re so easy on the eyes.
“It has to run out eventually. “I’m going for a goalless draw.”
QPR vs Sunderland Head to Head
QPR have not beaten Sunderland since 2018, with the Black Cats winning two of the last five matches and drawing three.
In September last season, Sunderland defeated QPR 3-1 at Loftus Road, with goals from Jack Clarke, Dan Ballard, and Abdoullah Ba, before drawing 0-0 at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland also won their second-to-last game at QPR, 3-0, in February 2023.
QPR have only beaten Sunderland once since 2014, and that victory came at home during the 2017/18 Championship season, when the Black Cats finished dead bottom.
Sunderland has the best away record this season (12 points from six games), whereas QPR has the 23rd best home record (three points from six games, all from draws).
