Sky Sport News, ‘Keep a look out for him’ – Motherwell’s Lennon Miller makes waves as legendary commentator tips big future.
Lennon Miller is well-known in football circles.
The 18-year-old midfielder has been a standout for Motherwell over the past several seasons. Despite his youth, he is already one of the team’s most consistent players.
Miller, the son of former Scotland striker Lee, has attracted interest from teams in England, including Crystal Palace, as well as Italy.
He appears to be a rising star in Scottish football, with Not the Old Firm ranking him as one of the Premiership’s top center midfielders.
Martin Tyler takes note of Motherwell star Miller.
The Scotland under-21s standout is now gaining attention outside of Scottish football circles.
Martin Tyler, a legendary football pundit, has spent decades covering the Premier League and the Champions League.
It’s safe to assume he’s seen a lot of players compete at the highest levels.
He is 79 years old and still working, and he has developed feelings for Miller. He watched Celtic’s match versus the Steelmen over the weekend while researching their next Champions League encounter.
And he told The Joy of Football Podcast: “Many listeners and viewers may not have heard of Lennon Miller. To be honest, I had not heard of Lennon Miller until lately.
“I’m preparing for a Champions League assignment at Celtic in a few days. They were playing Motherwell, and this young fellow attracted my attention.
“He is 18, and made his debut for Motherwell when he was 16 and six days in a Scottish League Cup encounter a couple of years ago.
“He has already played 50 games, scored six goals, and will score a couple more now that he is playing more forward.
“At 0-0, he struck the post from 18-25 yards before hitting the bar with shots that had Kasper Schmeichel well beaten. A millimeter difference would result in the goals being replayed again.
“He takes free kicks and corners.” He is also tall enough (6 feet) to pose a threat to other people’s set pieces.
“I really like the appearance of him, and after hearing Sky analyst Gary Weaver praise his merits, he said he may be the next cab off the rank in Scottish football.
“He still has a long way to go, but at 18, he’s already played a lot of football. I enjoy the way he looks and will keep an eye out for him, as I would recommend you do as well.”
Miller’s Motherwell form and statistics
Young players frequently enjoy a breakout season before dropping down a little. Not Miller.
