Wolverhampton fire update: Around 30 firefighters tackle early morning blaze
Approximately thirty firefighters and six fire engines responded to a fire early this morning.
Emergency personnel raced to the scene at Showell Road in Wolverhampton’s Bushbury neighbourhood.
Dudley, Willenhall, Bloxwich, Bilston, Wolverhampton, and Fallings Park firefighters were among the six fire engines and a 4×4 brigade response vehicle that responded to the incident.
The general storage outbuilding at the back of a number of terraced apartments was where the fire was.
Firefighters escorted one person from the damaged apartment to safety after the fire spread to another flat.There were also police officers and paramedics present.
After searching apartments, the West Midlands Fire Service confirmed that everyone was present. A total of no more casualties were saved.

There was smoke on three properties. The occupants of the impacted apartments are being relocated.
According to the West Midlands Fire Service, firefighters stayed on the site to help people relax. At 5.37 a.m., once all hotspots had been extinguished, we departed the scene.
“A hotspot was smothered with a hose reel during a revisit that happened during the day. Later this morning, firefighters will return to the scene.
