Leeds United fans to face devastating £67m transfer
Leeds United have pieced together another brilliant squad for this season and are again in the mix
for Premier League promotion.
Leeds United has a strong opportunity of making a comeback to the Premier League thanks to players of Premier
League calibre like Pascal Struijk, Junior Firpo, Ethan Ampadu, Willy Gnonto, and Largie Ramazani.
Leeds has excelled at spotting and nurturing exceptional talent. The drawback of this is that these talents could leave
for other teams.
For instance, at the close of the previous season, Leeds had to cope with the loss of Crysencio Summerville.
Summerville was voted the Championship Player of the Year for the 2023–24 season after scoring 19 goals in 43
appearances the previous season. However, Leeds lost to West Ham United in the Play-off Final at Wembley, which
prevented them from securing promotion.
In a devastating turn of events, the supporters will now have to watch as controversial Leeds figure Victor Orta tries
to sign Archie Grey, who left the team despite his family dynasty to join Tottenham Hotspurs. He wasn’t the only
heartbreaking departure at the end of the previous season.
Leeds United fans to have to stomach £67m transfer
Another transfer would be even worse if Leeds supporters find it difficult to accept Gray’s possible connection to
Orta at his new team, Seville.
As we previously reported, Raphinha, a former Leeds United hero who is still adored by Leeds supporters, is a target
for Premier League title challengers Arsenal, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United, and Champions League-chasing
Chelsea.
Even worse, according to rumours, Manchester United increased their offer for Raphinha from £42 million to £67
million in order to seal the deal because of this interest.
Leeds supporters will not like this at all, especially considering the animosity between Leeds and Manchester United.
It might also damage the reputation of a player who refused to leave Liverpool in order to stay with the team and
avoid relegation by scoring a goal on the last day of the 2021–2022 season.
