Manchester United receive Unai Emery response after Erik ten Hag sacked.
When Unai Emery was proposed as the next manager of Manchester United, Aston Villa supporters reacted.
After nine games, the Old Trafford team was in 14th place in the Premier League, and Erik ten Hag was fired by the Reds Devils on Monday.
“Erik ten Hag has resigned from his position as Manchester United men’s first-team manager,” a United statement stated. After being hired in April 2022, Erik guided the team to two domestic championships: the FA Cup in 2024 and the Carabao Cup in 2023.
“Until a permanent head coach is found, Ruud van Nistelrooy will lead the team as interim head coach with assistance from the current coaching staff.”
Sky Bet has swiftly established interim manager van Nistelrooy as the favorite to permanently replace Ten Hag at 1/2, with former England manager Gareth Southgate and former Barcelona manager Xavi following at 4/1).
Emery is 50/1 to take over for Ten Hag, who was previously linked to the United position when he was under fire at Old Trafford.
Villa fans have made their feelings on the matter clear on social media platform X:
Wesley Boyle: Seen some Man U fans suggesting Emery for their new manager.
Why would he step down so drastically?
In terms of the project, Man Utd may be ten years behind Villa.
They must acknowledge that they are now a small squad.
