BBC NEWS: Don Hutchinson claims a Manchester United player told him Thomas Frank would be “eaten alive” by dressing room

BBC NEWS: Don Hutchinson claims a Manchester United player told him Thomas Frank would be “eaten alive” by dressing room.

According to a member of the Manchester United squad, manager Thomas Frank struggled to manage the Manchester United locker room. The Brentford manager is allegedly on a “three-man shortlist” to replace Erik ten Hag if he is fired. The Dane has been the head coach at the Gtech Community Stadium since 2018, leading the team from the Championship to the Premier League. Under Frank, the Bees have established themselves as Premier League regulars, finishing 12th, 9th, and 16th in three full seasons.

He has also amazed many with his tactical versatility and ability to get the best out of a large number of players in order to compete on a regular basis with teams with far larger budgets and histories than Brentford. Nonetheless, former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchinson told BBC5 Live Sport that a current United player informed him Frank couldn’t handle this bunch of players. He stated, “I won’t mention names, but I said that to a Manchester United player approximately two weeks ago, and we were conversing; who do you think? (to succeed Ten Hag), and I chose Thomas

Frank.” “And he said to me, he said that the dressing room will eat him alive” . Hutchinson stated that he responded, “Well, that’s your problem.” There’s your dilemma right away. If you don’t accept a manager and coach like Thomas Frank, who can get you organised, you’re missing out as a supporter.” The BBC expert went on to say that the most important thing fans want to see is their team being organised. He questioned whether the current United players are truly “running for the badge”.

United’s players have a history of downing tools, and both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick suffered the affects of a dressing room that had lost faith near the end of both managers’ tenures. If Hutchinson’s statement is correct, few fans would sympathise with the players, who are now 14th in the Premier League with a negative goal differential. They are thus scarcely in a position to demand things that are too nice for a certain management.
