Oliver Glasner voices Crystal Palace fear ahead of pivotal Nottingham Forest test
Oliver Glasner acknowledges that when returning home to refuel, he could not help but ponder about Crystal
Palace’s dismal Premier League season opening.
The Eagles, who have yet to secure a league victory this year, will be visiting Nottingham Forest on Monday in an
attempt to prevent a third straight loss.
Glasner took advantage of the international window to see his family in his home Austria, but he was too focused on
the club’s poor standing to have any downtime.
We are all human, so I attempted to turn off throughout the weekend. At times, it’s beneficial to stand back and
refrain from overanalyzing, according to the Palace executive. When I visited my relatives in Austria, they would
occasionally tell me that I wasn’t truly there.
“This is the lot of a football manager; your mind is constantly focused on your team and what you can control,
especially during these crucial times.” Prior to their journey to the City Ground, Palace has played four Premier
League games—three of which have ended in draws—and Glasner acknowledges that this is an inadequate start.
He declared, “We are not moving in the right direction because we wanted and anticipated having more points.” We
play competitively for a large portion of the game, but ultimately we either lose or draw. We are discussing certain
percentages that we are lacking.
“We all attempt to remain unaffected by the outcome, but it’s difficult, particularly for the athletes. However, we can
also see that we can always generate opportunities, which should instill confidence in ourselves.
