Nottingham Forest have impressed in their opening seven games of the Premier League season as they return to action sitting in 10th spot.
Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side have been able to pull off some seriously impressive results with a win away to Liverpool as well as draws on the road to Brighton and Chelsea.
Forest were one of the busiest sides in the Premier League over the summer transfer window with Evangelos Marinakis providing Forest his full backing.
And there have been some seriously impressive performances to come from the early stages of the 2024/25 campaign.
Chris Wood has wowed pundit Tony Cascarino who hailed the striker one of the best in the Premier League.
However, there is one player who departed the City Ground at the end of last season which is really impressing with his new club.
What Nuno Tavares is doing better than any full-back in world football
Following the end of his loan spell, Nuno Tavares returned to Arsenal after spending the 2023/24 campaign with Forest.
It was not exactly a loan spell to remember for Tavares considering he only made 12 appearances across all competitions which returned a mere 665 minutes of football.
But he has since departed north London once again where he now finds himself playing his football in Serie A with Lazio.
According to CIES Football, the £8m-rated Tavares is currently returning more successful take-ons than any other full-back in world football.
The Portuguese left-back has now come into the Lazio side on a regular basis with five appearances in Serie A already.
And the 24-year-old has been able to provide a sensational return of five assists in his first five starts in the Italian top flight.
On his debut for the Rome-based side, Tavares was able to provide a seriously impressive return of two assists away to AC Milan.
Ola Aina and Alex Moreno have been solid Nuno Tavares replacements
Although Tavares is showing his quality over in Italy, Forest fans have been left amazed by Ola Aina who has been starting at left-back and right-back at times.
The Nigeria international has already made seven appearances in the Premier League this season having started every league game.
However, Aina has not been able to provide Forest with the same attacking threat which Tavares has offered Lazio.
With the likes of Roma showing an interest, Forest have advanced contract talks with Aina to secure his future at the City Ground.
He’s also not been the only option at left back, as Nuno Espirito Santo has turned to Alex Moreno, which has meant Aina has operated on the right for large parts.
