The summer transfer window was hectic for Norwich City after Johannes Hoff Thorup was named manager.

Under new sporting director Ben Knapper’s leadership, the summer transfer market saw the arrival of the Dane, who took David Wagner’s spot.

Ante Crnac, Amankwah Forson, and José Córdoba were among the many new faces that emerged at Carrow Road as a result.

Thorup is hoping that the 23-year-old can continue his present form throughout the campaign, with the team aiming for a second straight promotion run.

José Córdoba verdict

Zeke Downes of FLW, a Norwich fan, has praised Córdoba’s effect thus far this season when asked about his performance.

According to him, the full-back is exactly what the team’s defence needs heading into the upcoming season.

Since he signed, José Córdoba has truly impressed me, Downes said to Football League World.

“He’s another unknown, like many of our players, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect when he signed. Historically, we sign a lot of unknown players and hope it works.”

“Córdoba seems like a pretty wise addition, in my opinion.

“He’s young, strong, quick, and adept at passing the ball. He also does well when in possession.

“That’s something we’ve needed.

“Our backline hasn’t had anyone that’s got all of those attributes since Godfrey, although Godfrey wasn’t that tall, so maybe he’s got that over him as well.

“I think he’s only going to improve as the season goes on, but I’m absolutely loving him now.”

José Córdoba’s Norwich impact

Of the Canaries’ first nine league games, Córdoba has participated in seven of them, starting the last four.

Although he hasn’t scored or assisted yet, he has become more and more valuable to the club over the past month or two.

When league play resumes this weekend after the October international break, he will be seeking to build on his current run of form by starting in the starting lineup.

Norwich’s next game is on Saturday at 3 p.m. away against Stoke City.

Córdoba signing looking like a real coup for Norwich

Given that this was Knapper’s first chance to make an impression on the team and that acquisitions like Córdoba will please supporters, it was a major summer for Norwich.

The signing of Córdoba is a prime illustration of the Canaries’ penchant for bringing in unknown players from out of the blue.

Fans will be hoping he can keep up his current performance level, as the club has been playing well ever since he entered the starting lineup.

He has swiftly adjusted to English football, which bodes well for the kind of player he can develop into at Carrow Road.
