Antsy Celtic diehards score multiple own goals as they fail spectacularly to convince Hotline they are not scared

Premiership football returns with a bang as Celtic and Aberdeen put their perfect records on the line at Parkhead. Jimmy Thelin’s side has won 13 out of 13 games in all competitions thus far – but is the red revolution genuine, or is it simply another false Don in the north east?

The answer could come this afternoon, when the Pittodrie men face the champions for the first time this season. Celtic are ready to welcome Cameron Carter-Vickers back from injury, while Aberdeen are at full strength. And Mount Vernon’s Robert McEwan added, “I hope Celtic replicate the same score from this day in 1957 – it’s the anniversary of the 7-1 victory over Rangers.” “This should be an exciting game between the league’s top two teams.”

Stephen Mulhern of Dumbarton said: “I’m hoping Brendan Rodgers isn’t tempted to hold Carter-Vickers back for the Atalanta Champions League game because he’s the glue that ties our defence together. Realistically, we will gain nothing from our journey abroad, and retaining the crown should always be our top objective.

Meanwhile, Ayr’s Gordon Ashley stated that Aberdeen fans are ignoring one important fact in their overconfidence in fighting for the crown: they will not receive the guaranteed 15-20 extra points that Rangers received in prior title campaigns owing to fascinating VAR rulings. If they don’t achieve at least a draw on Saturday, the league and treble will go to Parkhead.”

But Dons fan James Masson emailed: “This Aberdeen side poses a significant threat going forward; think if we still had Bojan Miovski leading the line! But I’m still certain Kevin Nisbet will do the job; he’s always enjoyed a goal in Glasgow against the Old Firm with Hibs. “Win today, and the title challenge is real.”

Off the pitch, tensions have also heated up. But not in a positive sense. Celtic and Rangers fans have landed their clubs in hot water with UEFA after repeatedly using flares and fireworks inside stadiums during Euro games this season. It’s an increasing problem on our terraces, and not just at Old Firm clubs.
