West Brom pay tribute to Baggies fan and former One Direction star as singer dies aged 31

One of West Bromwich Albion’s most well-known supporters, who sadly passed away at the age of just 31, has received tribute from the team.

According to local media, the 31-year-old Wolverhampton singer passed away in front of a hotel in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina.

It was reported that he had fallen from the building’s third storey. From his previous relationship with singer Cheryl, Payne has a son named Bear.

Liam was a huge West Brom supporter who grew up watching games at The Hawthorns. He was born and raised in the Wolverhampton neighborhood of Heath Town.

The club posted on social media to convey their sorrow. “We’re shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Baggies fan and musician, Liam Payne,” a West Brom statement on Twitter said.

“At this tragic time, our thoughts are with Liam’s family, friends, and loved ones.”
