Chelsea vs Aston Villa: Who is the referee and VAR for the Premier League clash?
Officials have been announced for Chelsea’s Premier League match against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Aston Villa, led by Unai Emery, are attempting to win three consecutive away league games against Chelsea for the second time in history, having done so in 1930 and 1933.
The visitors are winless in their previous seven matches (D3, L4) across all competitions, and Chelsea will be eager to extend their misery to eight games.
The gap between the two sides is three points, with Chelsea leading Villa in the race for Champions League qualifying.
Chelsea’s head coach, Enzo Maresca, believes they are ahead of schedule, saying, “For sure, in terms of our results and the way we want to play, we are above my expectations.” The good news is that we are there (at the table) and will attempt to be there as much as possible. The essential thing is that we can add more, better players, and grow as a squad.
“I believe Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool will all be present. As a result, there are few open places. But we’ll compete in every game and then see where we stand.”
As the league battle on Sunday approaches, the officials for the meeting in the capital have been confirmed.
Fourth Official
Bobby Madley has been named as the Fourth Official for Sunday’s match, with the referee overseeing conduct within the two dugouts, and the behaviour of Enzo Maresca and Unai Emery.
VAR/Assistant VAR
Overviewing proceedings from Stockley Park on Sunday will be Michael Salisbury, who has been named as the Video Assistant Referee, with the Assistant Video Assistant Referee being Derek Eaton.
