Warriors launch October international camp

The Wigan Warriors Community Foundation has released details for a one-of-a-kind international camp over the October half-term.

Following their record-breaking Summer Warrior Camp, the newly announced International Camp will be held at Robin Park Arena from Tuesday to Friday, October 22-25, prior to England’s test match against Samoa at The Brick Community Stadium on Sunday, October 27 (2.30pm KO).

In addition to a variety of exciting camp activities, attendees will get the unique opportunity to rub shoulders with England Men’s players as they prepare for the Test at Robin Park Arena.

The Warriors’ Community Foundation-led camps allow registrants to improve their essential abilities and understanding of the game in enjoyable and engaging sessions tailored to children [aged 5-16] of all ability and experience levels.

Each day of camp will have its own theme, while participants in the age ranges U12-U16 will participate in development-based activities conducted by the foundations’ boy and girl development coaches.

Interim Wigan Head of Community Danny Fullerton commented on the camps’ success, saying: “Our record-breaking Summer Warrior Camp has been a credit to Wigan’s strong community spirit and the dedication of our staff and volunteers.

“It’s quite rewarding to watch so many young people interact with us, developing their talents while having fun and making new friends. This achievement illustrates the Community Foundation’s significant role in bringing people together through rugby league.

“We are already looking forward to welcoming more aspiring juniors to our October International Camp where children will rub shoulders with the England Men’s squad at Robin Park.”
