Gabby Agbonlahor thinks Everton star would be at Real Madrid ‘if he had pace’

Talksport pundit and former Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor heaped praise on Dwight McNeil following his performance at the weekend

Dwight McNeil has the technical potential to play for Barcelona or Real Madrid, according to one analyst who was astounded by his amazing strike against Crystal Palace.

Former midfielder Gabby Agbonlahor, who came into the England squad during his long career at Aston Villa, referred to McNeil’s left foot as a “wand” as he pondered on Everton’s first Premier League victory of the season.

Agbonlahor highlighted McNeil’s track record of great strikes, which includes stunning goals against Southampton, Brighton and Hove Albion, and now Palace, as well as his ingenuity.
The attacker is off to a great start in his third season at Goodison Park, thanks in part to Sean Dyche’s decision to move him into a central position. He has three goals and two assists so far this season and is one of the league’s top opportunity creators.

Agbonlahor, Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer who, like McNeil, has played out wide, said on Talksport that if he had pace, McNeil, he’d be playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona because his left foot is a wand, he can find a pass, he can strike a ball.

“That first goal he scored has become McNeil’s hallmark goal. Give him time, and he’ll hit the top corner. His second goal is on target; McNeil always hits the mark, and he is a truly exceptional player. If this guy had pace, he’d be playing at a high level. “He is an excellent player.”
